Posh Teatime Co. Finds a Permanent Home in Franklinton
By Bethia Woolf
For the past five years, Posh Teatime Co. built a following with their mobile tea service. Founder Ella Williams and her team brought vintage china, crystal stemware, handcrafted pastries and specialty blended teas directly into homes, gardens and event spaces across Central Ohio.
Last November, the mobile tea experience officially put down roots with a brick-and-mortar location in Franklinton and Columbus gained a new, reservation-only destination for afternoon tea.

A Luxury Experience With Midwestern Generosity
Open Friday through Monday by reservation, Posh offers several tea service options, from traditional afternoon tea to more elaborate high tea experiences. Expect traditional tiered trays filled with handcrafted sweets and savories, an extensive loose leaf tea menu, and tables set with vintage and antique-inspired china.
And come hungry.
“Our customers seem to like Midwestern portions,” Williams says—and she means it. The servings are generous, striking a balance between refined presentation and genuine hospitality.
More than Just a Tea Room
Posh Teatime Co. is a Black-, female- and Muslim-owned social enterprise. Williams, who brings more than 20 years of experience in corporate America, is also a certified International Social Etiquette Consultant.
From its earliest days as a mobile operation, Posh has partnered with local nonprofits, including Huckleberry House and The Buckeye Ranch, to provide etiquette training, home economics instruction and life-skills classes for at-risk youth. The new Franklinton location supports that mission in a central location, embedded in a neighborhood where community investment matters.
The company also offers employment pathways and hospitality training for young people, equipping them with professional skills in customer service, communication and teamwork.
When guests book an afternoon tea, they’re not just reserving scones and Earl Grey. They’re helping fund mentorship, job readiness training and opportunities for local youth.
What to Watch For
In addition to regular tea service, Posh plans to host seasonal and specialty events throughout the year like Mother’s Day teas, guided tea tastings, book clubs and etiquette classes. If the first five years are any indication, these gatherings will blend refinement with warmth, and polish with approachability.
Columbus has no shortage of coffee shops, but there’s something different about slowing down for afternoon tea especially when that ritual also supports a broader social mission.
